Through My Lens

Posterous is friendly. Funny, perhaps, to say that about an inanimate, non-tactile entity that is wholy digital, but nonetheless, Posterous is friendly. And that is why I wound up here and not someplace else.

It's been awhile, but I probably discovered Posterous thanks to Garr Reynolds, blogger about all things Presentation Zen and Posterous poster at Garr's posterous.

Posterous is friendly because it:

  • has a simple, lean, clean interface
  • can be posted to from my cell phone or computer
  • is easy and quick to get pictures and text online for folks (often, my Mom :-) to see
  • is easy to teach others to use (as we just finished doing as part of our 2-day Digital Wave for faculty)

I hang out and participate in several online home ports. It's likely I would have found my way to at least one of them even if not for the fact that I have been a computer teacher since 1982, my husband has been a computer teacher since 1983 (and for most of that time also an IT Director), and both my sons are probably what has been termed "digital natives".
